Isaac Randolph McRae III, MST, EA, NTPI Fellow, is a licensed tax professional with over 30 years of experience in the profession of taxation. He is a true tax professional. As a native of Boston, MA he attended Howard University in Washington, DC where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Southeastern University in Washington, DC earning a Master’s degree in Taxation. Mr. McRae passed the Internal Revenue Service Special Enrollment Examination earning the professional designation of Enrolled Agent (EA) therefore receiving a license to practice before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He also attended the National Tax Practice Institute earning the designation of Fellow. Mr. McRae also has studied and passed the Maryland and District of Columbia Real Estate Licensing examinations and currently maintains his MD license.as a real estate agent.

Mr. McRae’s gained experience initially in the tax field as a Howard University student working for General Business Services, Inc preparing Corporate and Partnership tax returns. He later worked in various positions for the District of Columbia Department of Finance and Revenue (DFR) At DFR in the Taxpayer Services Division he prepared DC tax returns in the low-income tax clinic, in the Real Property Tax Division he audited, reviewed and wrote procedures for recordation and transfer tax returns. Before resigning from DFR, he worked in the Audit, Compliance and Investigation Division where he tested, debugged and developed the tax processing module of the Business Tax Information System and assisted in the development of the tax processing system for the first DC Tax Amnesty program. As a consultant for Best Programs, Inc. Mr. McRae tested and debugged the Tax Partner individual income tax software and the Tax Planner software programs.

Mr. McRae is a former adjunct Assistant Professor of Taxation at Southeastern University where he taught the Federal Tax 1, 2 and/or 3 courses to both undergraduate and graduate students. The Federal Tax 3 course is the IRS Special Enrollment Examination preparatory course for individuals preparing for the IRS Special Enrollment Examination. Mr. McRae has successfully educated and prepared students to pass the Special Enrollment Examination.

Mr. McRae has been a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the state affiliate the Maryland/District of Columbia Society of Enrolled Agents (MDDCSEA). Mr. McRae served on the Board of Directors of MD/DCSEA and upon request develops and presents continuing education courses for the chapter. Representing the MD/DCSEA chapter, Mr. McRae served as the NAEA Chairperson of the Host Committee for the 2000 National Tax Practice Institute in Washington, DC.

Mr. McRae is a member, instructor and former Board member of the National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP). He has taught the (NSTP) Registered Tax Return Preparer preparatory course, the Annual Filing Season Program course, NSTP tax Update courses and the NSTP Special Enrollment Examination Boot Camp course. Mr. McRae also develops and presents continuing education courses upon request from the organization.

Lastly, Mr. McRae has volunteered at the IRS, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program; served on several IRS focus group panels; recognized twice in Money magazine; interviewed and quoted on CNN-FM.com; interviewed by CNN for a segment on “Tax Filing reminders for Newlyweds”, appeared several times on WHUR-FM radio; several times on WJLATV7 Good Morning Washington and WUSA-TV9 providing tax advice as the tax expert; and interviewed by WNBC-TV4 news promoting electronic filing. Mr. McRae has hosted and been a guest speaker at numerous tax seminars.
